Staying In Silom
Silom is a popular area with tourists, especially upmarket ones, and it is close to the financial district of the city. There are also excellent transport links with the BTS, MRT, buses, taxis, and riverboats being close by to the area. You can select a boutique hotel near BTS Silom, which will make getting around the city a piece of cake, no matter whether you are looking to explore the sights or go shopping in one of the many malls in the city.
Staying In Banglamphu
Banglamphu is an area of the city which many visitors flock to, with the Grand Palace and other tourist attractions being found in this area. You can also find the infamous Khao Sarn Road, which is the most popular area with backpackers. Other than the attractions in the local area, getting around from here can be a pain. You can use the riverboats which are close by, or you will need to get a taxi or bus to the nearest MRT and BTS stations, which can take about 20 minutes when the traffic is not too bad.
Living It Up In Sukhumvit
By far, one of the most popular areas of the city with tourists is Sukhumvit, and you will find a wide and varied selection of different types of accommodation available. As well as there being plenty of places to stay, there are also BTS and MRT stations close by making getting around easy. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in this area of town, and it is also a popular area to party until the small hours of the morning.
Shopping In Siam
If it is all about shopping when you stay in Bangkok, then you may wish to consider staying in the Siam area of the city. As well as being plenty of convenient transport links, there are many different shopping malls in Siam for you to choose from, making it easy to shop till you drop. You can visit Sim Paragon, Siam Discovery, MBK, or Centrepoint Siam Square to name but a few, and there is plenty to do in all these locations other than shopping, helping to keep everyone happy in your group.
